Ethical Entrepreneur Club RTHS

The Ethical Entrepreneur Club at Research Triangle High School is a student-led organization focused on teaching members how to start and run successful, mission-driven businesses. The club provides a hands-on introduction to entrepreneurship, guiding students through the process of transforming ideas into real products while emphasizing ethical decision-making and community impact.

Throughout the year, members follow a structured curriculum that introduces core business concepts such as idea generation, branding, product development, pricing, and marketing. Early meetings focus on brainstorming business ideas and understanding how values can shape a business. As the year progresses, students develop business names and logos, determine product ranges across different price points, and learn how to market their products effectively through posters and social media. Dedicated work days allow members to apply these lessons by creating products, designing displays, and preparing for real-world sales.

A major component of the club is its end-of-year market, where students become vendors and sell their products to the school and local community. Offerings have included baked goods, handmade crafts, and collaborative projects such as “Baking With a Buddy.” The market serves as a culmination of the year’s work, giving students the opportunity to apply their entrepreneurial skills in a realistic, fast-paced environment.

As a co-leader, I help plan lesson content, organize events, and support members throughout the business development process. I also assist with marketing strategy, logistics, and market setup, ensuring that students have the resources and guidance needed to succeed. Through creativity, collaboration, and hands-on experience, the Ethical Entrepreneur Club empowers students to explore entrepreneurship while making a positive impact beyond the classroom.
